Inspiration - No lavatory is maintained through automated system nor intelligence is involved. Now, lavatories are cleaned based on schedule and not on usage. Also, there is no feedback which really covers the cleanliness of Lavatories as a parameter. we automated the whole process. Also, the overall feedback (flying) experience is recorded with a paper or with an email/app notification at the verge of journey completion/after the journey. No proper feedback is presented or recorded, This is the problem to be solved! Women safety is also covered!
What it does - Automated the toilet cleanliness monitor, with feedback collection for the lavatory status from the user based on real-time observation, the capture of feedback in real-time from the user with less than 5 seconds of time spared by the user, exclusive data collection enabling forecasting with scalability. AWS used to also recognize the facial reactions to get feedback. Women safety is included as a major component.
How we built it - With a microcontroller being the heart collecting sensory data. The data is collected in the cloud, processed, stored. Alert sent through the sirens/indicators on observation. AWS and its richness is used to analyze the reactions of face and touch is also recorded.
Challenges we ran into - Building 4 solutions into one product was the biggest challenge. Collecting the data in real time and processing without delay was a challenge. Using AWS for here for the first time was a bit of challenge, but we enjoyed learning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of - We were able to complete what we wanted to! Also, the product works fine and tested for sustainability. We are happy to meet deadlines, without disruption in the plan.
What we learned - Smart and Quick work, AWS, Handling pressure. Coming up with solutions in a shorter span of time with frugality and viability.
What's next for Cust'O'track - Prototype is built. Next is to receive feedback from users through test runs. Pitching is also planned.
