culturegram, a cultural image-sharing platform for Galleries, Libraries, Artists and Museums inspired from Instagram that runs entirely on the blockchain.

After observing some problems like user content being censored, the ease to which user privacy can be bridged, no true freedom in terms of content creation and user expression, and also the exploitation of user data by social media companies.

We are presenting a novel application that users can post cultural related images with a correnspong description. It runs entirely on the etherium blockchain and is equally connected to IPFS through infura. The blockchain transactions are sponsored with the help of the metamask wallet and simulated with ganache local blockchain.

The user can select an image file and type the corresponding image description and upload it. The image is then uploaded to IPFS, the CID is optained and stored on the blockchain. Users have the opportunity to like sign an image thereby sending a tip to the creator of the content the images are then curated according the highest signed image.

This gives the value to the image and they can of course be transferred to other owners in due time.
