What it does

Itinerary Cooker is a web-app solution designed to assist users in creating optimal travel itineraries based on their chosen destinations. The app aims to streamline the planning process by analyzing various factors such as travel time, distance, accomodations, and user preferences. It then generates a customized itinerary that maximizes the user's time and ensures they visit all of their information.

How we built it

User Interface (UI): The web-app includes a visually appealing and user-friendly interface to engage users effectively using React, and Tailwind.
Backend Development: The app utilizes a backend framework such as Express and Typescript. This includes handling user requests, managing the database, and running the algorithm for generating optimal itineraries.
Algorithm and Recommendation Engine: An algorithm is employed to analyze the input destinations, user preferences, and other relevant factors. This algorithm suggests the most efficient and appealing itinerary based on the provided data.

I worked on the backend, setting up the environment, server configurations and the authentication, itinerary generation (leveraging google places API), upload photo and add/view reviews routes/api call

Khiet Tam Nguyen
I worked on both backend and frontend. I researched how Google Places API and it's various components can be of use to us in the project. I took care of setting up basic backend stuff, managing interfaces, generation of itinerary. For frontend, helped in designing the wireframes and frontend pages for various paths, linking the navigation across them, and modifying them appropriately so can easily make backend calls.
