Inspiration
For many young adults, microexpenses quietly drain their wallets. It’s easy to spend small amounts here and there without realizing how much it adds up, like getting your daily dose of coffee, small snacks for study sessions and many more scenarios. That’s why we’ve created CrumbTrail to make your spending visible and your finances easier to control.
What it does
CrumbTrail is an iOS mobile app designed to help everyday consumers track their microexpenses and daily transactions. It allows users to visualize their money flow and provides AI-driven guidance for smarter financial decisions, all within a comforting and approachable user interface.
How we built it
To build this app we used The technologies used to develop this app consist of Swift, SwiftData, SwiftUI, Firebase, Figma, and Gemini API. It took a lot of planning and brainstorming in order to get the ideeas for the UI
Challenges we ran into
We had some trouble organizing the team, but in the end we managed to make a good fron-end and back-end. Implementing the gemini API was also interesting with Swift.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our app design and the development that we were able to do in these 36 hours.
What we learned
We learned more about Swift which was a really meaningfull experience since we just got into mobile app development.
What's next for CrumbTrail
We plan on making it responsive for Android and possibly Web in the future.
