Inspiration
I was inspired by the look and feel of popular interactive fiction games like Florence and If Found… that combine game mechanics with narrative, often with limited text.
What it does
Alternating between the perspectives of two strangers, when lives cross is a short interactive fiction game about a chance meeting when two lives cross.
How I built it
I created the art in Procreate and Figma and built the game in Unity with C# and Fungus for visual scripting.
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge I ran into was figuring out how to add all the drag mechanics I wanted and figuring out how to work with the 2D colliders. The time constraint of the jam was also a big challenge, so I simplified the visuals and mechanics a lot to get it done. I also ran into a lot of issues with making the HTML5 build, but I think it should work now!
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I’m proud that I finished the game, although it may look a little rough :)
What I learned
I learned more about Unity and C#, adding drag and drop mechanics, and programming camera movement.
