Inspiration

Our inspiration for creating Crop Connection was to bridge the gap between local farmers and people who want fresh and locally sourced produce. Many people find it difficult to access fresh produce directly from farmers, and at the same time, farmers struggle to find a direct market for their crops. We wanted to create an app that could encourage the growth of a community of local farmers and consumers, nurturing a connection that’s beneficial for both.

What it does

Crop Connection is a platform that simplifies the journey of produce from farm to your kitchen. It allows users to connect directly with local farmers and explore the fresh crops available. The app brings the farmers' market to your fingertips, ensuring that you have access to the freshest choices while supporting local communities.

How we built it

The initial steps of the prototype development involved identifying the issue and drafting the User Interface. Following that, we crafted an interactive app prototype, ensuring its ease of use and its capability to seamlessly connect consumers with farmers. Throughout the journey, we gathered input from users and used it to refine and enhance the prototype.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered several challenges in the process. Primary challenge was creating an intuitive and user-friendly design that simplifies the process of finding and purchasing local produce. Determining the essential functionalities to include, ensuring the prototype mirrored realistic app usage, and maintaining engaging interactivity were also significant areas of focus and were challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are incredibly proud of establishing a platform that empowers local farmers and provides them with a direct platform to sell their produce. This app will spread social good by promoting sustainable agriculture. It is an easy way to make a positive impact on local agriculture and sustainable farming practices.

What we learned

This journey has been immensely educational. We learned the importance of understanding and empathizing with our users - both the farmers and the consumers. We gained insights into the challenges faced by local farmers in marketing their produce and the consumers' need for fresh, locally sourced food.

What's next for Crop Connection

Moving forward, the goal is to transform the prototype into a fully functional app, and further enhance the user experience through feedback. Additionally, new features will be added, including but not limited to accessibility features to help users with disabilities.
