Inspiration

The inspiration behind our idea NomadSprint.com comes from the changing nature of work. Even before the pandemic people were looking to work in many environments that are different from the traditional office. We want to facilitate these experiences.

What it does

It's a website where you for can sign up for unique work experiences in different environments. We use a lightweight agile sprint format to help organise the event. You may end up working in a different location or with entirely new people. Trust is critical for us, and we have incorporated Santander Digital Trust.

How we built it

We used modern UX and Development techniques to create a website. We used React and Typescript for the front-end which is cloud-hosted (AWS) with a CDN. The UX was first designed in Figma so we had designs to work from as well as User Journey Mapping detailed in Whimsical. We use a custom domain name for the website and API tiers. Both the website and the API use the recommended TLS version for secure HTTPS communication.

Challenges we ran into

We had a few technical challenges to overcome. For example the trailing slash on the return url from the OpenID portal caused a problem for our Single Page Application (SPA) but we overcame this with some redirection at the root of the site.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our MVP website and all of the designs and development that went into it. We worked well as a team with Jemima leading the UX and design work and the 2 Developers working together. Most of all we love the idea to utilise identity verification and provide these unique work experiences to creative people.

What we learned

We learnt a lot already about OpenID and how this potentially can be a game changer for online trust.

What's next for Createistic

We are keen to work together again, to push this project on further and also take part in more Hackathons :)
