COVID-19 Tracker Map Website is a website that shows statistics on how serious the covid-19 pandemic is in other countries to inform people how safe those countries are.
Our inspiration for this project was based on recent events.
It shows COVID data to help people know how safe countries are based on cases and deaths.
We built it using Python, Flask, HTML, and Visual Studio Code as our code editor.
Some of the challenges we ran into were that we weren’t able to display some covid-19 data and every single country, we were only able to show statistics of some countries because of API restrictions. Additionally, we were able to build a website that displays the covid-19 statistics of 5 countries namely the USA, India, France, Brazil, and Germany.
We're proud of creating a somewhat functional website from the ground up albeit basic and incomplete.
We learned how to create a website using Flask, Python, and HTML. We learned how to fetch data from APIs.
In the future, we are thinking about adding the namesake map feature and maybe a feature that allows you to donate to covid 19 relief funds all around the world.
