Inspiration
I was tired of clunky, inconvenient desktop SMS solutions like MightyText. So, I decided to go after a solution with far more use cases and applications.
How it works
All you have to do is use your favorite XMPP client (like Messages on OSX) to get the same mobile cohesion as an iphone on your own computer. XMPP is very widely used, even by Facebook Messenger, and it shouldn't be a problem to find a client to serve most of your needs as a modern mobile user.
Challenges I ran into
The XMPP spec is terse. So, it isn't perfect, but it works for now.
