Inspiration

Objective 1: Answer the question “How well can students discern the authenticity of internet comments in an anonymous environment?” Objective 2: Design, build, and deploy a web application and associated cloud infrastructure to answer the above question while providing an educational experience about how AI-generated content can blend into internet conversations.

What it does

The concept is simple: students will be prompted with an article on a fictional social network called Convo (my web-app). They will then contribute to a “comment thread” about the article. One student will write an anonymous comment, and then another student will be prompted to reply to the comment, and the cycle will continue. In the end, it will be revealed that one of the comments was written by AI (the web-app will automatically call OpenAI’s API to generate a comment that blends in with the discussion). The students will then have to try to discern which comment was not authentic.

How we built it

Right now, it's not fully functional. However, people can join a game, and the comments can flow in. Unfortunately, the AI part of the game isn't up and running quite yet.
