Inspiration

As an attorney, I have a lot of friends who need lawyers. One reason is they need a lawyer to review a contract, but they might not have enough money to pay a lawyer to do that. Which is why I created Contract Buddy! Contract Buddy is a low-cost, efficient way to help the average person to negotiate contracts. While current solutions focus on the enterprise, Contract Buddy is a B2C application meant for average people to get a better understanding of contracts and how to negotiate them.

Built by a Lawyer for Non-Lawyers

I built around 50% of the project a few months ago using Replit. At this hackathon, I was able to finish the project and get it up and running with fewer errors and incorporating Snowflake technology. Contract Buddy will be in the Startup Track of the hackathon.

What it does

Upload your contract and get AI-powered insights and suggestions to negotiate better terms in minutes, not hours.

How we built it

I vibe coded this project using Replit.

Snowflake provides the data layer and reference standards, Document AI extracts structured information, and GPT-4o provides intelligent analysis and generates improved clause language.

Challenges we ran into

There were a lot of errors, but Replit was able to correct them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I finished the application in time.

What we learned

Even an attorney like me can vibe code a coding project that turns into a product for a startup.
