Inspiration

Our inspiration to create this project was one of us procrastinating on the physics homework until hack davis, and now there is little time to finish it. BonziBuddy was another inspiration for having a digital assistant. We did not take inspiration from the spyware part.

What it does

You tell your ConspicousConfidant which tabs you are currently working on. Whenever you go to an unproductive tab, your digital best friend ConspicousConfidant, will make fun of you and motivate you to go back to the productive tabs. If he is unsuccessful, you will be forcefully moved.

How we built it

We built this project using react, firefox dev tools, tailwind css, etc.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of trouble getting the front end pop-up connecting to the extension storage. There is also not as much content around making extensions as we would have liked.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We actually got the extension to work.

What we learned

We learned that making extensions is much harder than we thought.

What's next for ConspicousConfidant?

We did not have enough time to add all the funny features we wanted. We can mute the unproductive tab, rotate it slowly, play a sound byte, and many more things to motivate the user.
