Inspiration

It has been difficult to find community organizations that match our interests because of the sheer volume of opportunities. We wanted to create a product that helped people become involved in their community in a fun and engaging way.

What it does

The program matches people with a certain community organization in NYC based on a series of questions about their interests and personalities. Some recommendations are randomized if the person does not have specific interests that they want to explore.

How I built it

It was built using a series of connected html pages, along with a css and js file.

Challenges I ran into

We attempted to record the personal information (name and email) and survey results of people using the program to compile statistics about results and to also provide contacts and possible connections to people who were recommended to join the same group. We were unable to finish this section of the project due to issues related to local storage.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We have very little experience in coding, so we are very proud that we have created a usable product that can help people get connected!

What I learned

We learned all the skills we used for this project today (from the workshops and the mentors-thank you for your help!)

What's next for ConnectMe

We want to get the statistical analysis working to further community connections and add more possible organizations.
