Inspiration
Our initial inspiration for this project was that we felt disconnected and didn’t get a sense of authenticity through current social media apps. We wanted to create a website that showcases your life in spontaneous and raw moments, moments that do not seem picture-perfect
What it does
Our website allows user to create an account where they post photos or texts to everyday. Users are given a new prompt every day and have the option to upload a live photo or text relating to the prompt. Users can scroll through an explore tab or friend tab to discover what their friends are thinking of or doing in that moments. Users can like other users' post and if they have liked each other’s post 5 times or more, we suggest a match and they can choose to befriend one another.
How we built it
We built our website using Replit and programming languages HTML and CSS. We created an outline of our website using Figma.
Challenges we ran into
The challenges we ran into were positioning elements correctly on our website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One major accomplishment for us was being able to complete our website layout on Figma and also creating a website name and logo.
What we learned
Our team learned how to build websites using Replit, how CSS and HTML connect, and how to utilize Figma as a collaborative platform.
What's next for Connecting Moments
Next, we want to incorporate backend development into our website and allow users’ inputted information to appear in their respective places on our website. Ideally, we would have made this into an app so transferring our idea from a website to an app could also be a possible next step.
