Inspiration
With a mission to uplift the emotional well-being of kidney patients, our project aims to empower patients with kidney failure by connecting with job opportunities.
What it does
To achieve this, we offer a user-friendly platform for employers to find talented individuals. Job seekers can easily upload their resumes and explore various online courses aimed at improving their employability, with a focus on tasks that can be performed remotely, such as call center services, web design, and more. Our website also features stories of kidney patients for employers to understand the unique circumstances faced by kidney patients, such as juggling with their dialysis schedule as well as managing the physical demands of kidney dialysis.
How we built it
We built a website using tailwind CSS to develop the front end and firebase to develop the back end
Challenges we ran into
One challenge that we faced include creating designs for our websites that we are able to code it out within a short period of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of actually creating a functional website that is able to take in data and store data. Our website is also responsive, and works well on different screen sizes, enhancing users' experiences.
What we learned
We learned how to use firebase, which we had no prior knowledge before this. We also learned how to create website designs.
What's next for Connecting Lives
We hope to extend the platforms to persons with disabilities by connecting them to jobs specific to their abilities, and also help employers understand the unique circumstances of people with disabilities. As a result, they are able to slowly integrate into out society and create change.
