Inspiration

We were a team of music enthusiasts making an effort to make the lives of fellow music lovers easier.

What it does

Our group wanted to be able to see how to convert audio to music sheet notes using a combined knowledge of digital signal processing and software engineering to try and build an app.

How we built it

We started by using C++, went to Node.js and also looked at TensorFlow (Magenta) for a bit. We then used a bit of Javascript and Java, and decided they probably weren't the best of ideas so we went full circle and straight back to C++.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a lot of challenges. Our group had no background in development using Javascript, Node, or TensorFlow. Additionally, we had to work out how to use all of our libraries and resources simultaneously having barely any knowledge of how to mesh these different libraries together.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

We were able to apply our knowledge of Digital Signal Processing to take an input and output a corresponding note accordingly. Additionally, we were able to output a single note on C++ and nearly be able to interface it to sheet music.

What we learned

We learned that a lot of time and effort is needed throughout the hackathon to come up with and implement a good product in addition to needing to research a lot and use the skills that everyone has separately to come up with a great plan.

What's next for Composed.

The future of Composed. is not set in stone. Our future goal is to develop and process more data faster.
