Inspiration
Our inspiration is a mix of the information we learned through the Green Events presentation during the opening ceremony and past discord bot experience.
What it does
Compobot, is a discord bot with varies games and actions that will result in a loss or gain in money. Overall, the more sustainable the actions users choose are, the more money they should accumulate, thus promoting sustainable choices to its users.
How we built it
We built Compobot using Python, Json, and discord.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge that we ran into was creating a database to keep all the users balances constant throughout the server. We also had issues with hosting.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Overall, we’re just proud to have completed this project given that two of three of our members have never used python or had prior coding experience before March 3.
What we learned
Two members of our team learned the basics of python, and the other member learned about the complications of hosting a discord bot.
What's next for Compobot
Hopefully we're able to spread the word of Compobot and he finds himself in many discord servers!
