Our project, Comfort Food Around the World is a scalable working prototype of a cooking simulator. The inspiration behind this project was to create a simple and enjoyable game for anyone to play to generate interest in learning the essential life skill of cooking. We made sure to implement dishes that are popular from a wide variety of cultures in order to educate the user on different cultural cuisines in a fun and approachable way.

We build the game using Unity and imported hand-made UI objects and sprite designs created using Piksel. A large challenge we ran into was with large files in Unity making version control difficult.

We are proud that we were able to get a fully working prototype that is easily scalable with fully handmade UI design. We learned version control and how to use 3D physics in a 2D space. Next, we plan on adding more recipes from a wider range of cultures to the cookbook.
