Inspiration

We are both students in high school, so we know how much stress students get from a variety of areas, like extracurricular activities, homework, sports, and applying to college. We wanted students to have a relaxing, stress-relieving game they could play in their pastimes. A game that includes no competition or comparison with anyone other than themselves.

What it does

Our game is a color sorting game. The user first clicks on the tile they want to move, and then the tile they want the tile to move to, and the respective tiles will swap colors. Once the user has sorted all the colors for that level, they can press the space bar to go to the next level. The difficulty gradually increases as the level increases.

How we built it

We built Color Classify through python, using pygame.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were creating the gradient for our board and randomizing the location of the tiles.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our game has many aspects that we are proud of. First of all, we are proud that our game is able to tell which tiles the user clicks, and swap the two tiles if the user clicks on a second tile. We are also proud that our game has more than one level and the colors are randomized, so the game can keep going and be replayed.

What we learned

We learned that sometimes you have to look at things from a different perspective. For example, when we were programming the color gradient, we first thought about using a

What's next for Color Classify

We plan on making a program where the user can choose the starting colors of their four corners. Then, the program would randomize the location of the tiles for the user to play.
