Inspiration

What it does## Inspiration

Many high schoolers struggle to find decent scholarships or federal loan programs to help them on their college journey. In addition, finding internships aligning with one's major can be very difficult.

What it does

Based on your APS, GPA, extracurriculars, region, and household income, it generates a list of relevant scholarships and financial aid programs from a database of over 1,000 US programs.

How we built it

We used google cloud services and Vertex AI to handle most of the coding.

Challenges we ran into

Vertex AI hallucinated our database with dummy data. We attempted to create a real database, but failed to implement it in time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a mostly-functional website with a sleek, modernized UI with plenty of features and useful info for the average high school student.

What we learned

We learned to perservere through the challenges of navigating google cloud's UI and Vertex AI tools.

What's next for CollegeFinanceAi

Adding FinancePlus and FinancePremium for additional features, for example the likelihood of getting accepted a scholarship.
