Inspiration

While working with teams during hackathons, the project details were often something we would have to write in the final few minutes before submission as we would push ourselves to continue adding features to our designs until the end of the hackathon. A common problem we would come across is the inability to edit the project details together as a team. This would cause us to lose our work quite often as we would forget about this and have multiple people begin editing the project details, overwriting other edits.

Idea

Within the project details section, the project story section should have a team edit option. This could be done through integration with a collaboration tool, such as Google Docs or Microsoft 365, within Devpost itself or a new collaboration option created by Devpost itself. The feature should allow for clear visibility of what other users are doing in real-time as well as colour-coding and icons for each user. Additionally, autosave should be an option to prevent edits from being lost

Reasons behind this suggestion

Having a real-time team editing tool directly available in Devpost would make online, global hackathons more accessible as all members of a team would be able to see edits to their team's work instantaneously. Additionally, in-person hackathons would be made less stressful as teams would be able to allow all members to contribute to their project details without losing time or other edits.
