Inspiration

Nowadays, both women and men spend long working hours either at home or away. This brought us to think about including the state of the person (whether they are tired, stressed, sad, happy...) in the recommendations of content they may be interested in or in a dire need of that they will enjoy thanks to the stunning LGTV screens and speakers.

What it does

It begins with an emotion detection automated process thanks to the tv camera. The user will be notified automatically on the LG ThinQ app, giving him the choice to interact with a smart chat bot to pinpoint the issue and try to solve it by giving him advice and suggesting the Well-Being Coach, which will recommend content to watch on the TV, as well as interactive programs including sports, meditation and music.

How we built it

The systems work on two main platforms, mobile and TV. The mobile client offers multiple controls over the system, as well as most of the interaction with the Coach. The TV client will show the recommended content to the user based on his emotional state, his choices and preferences.

Challenges we ran into

How to respect the user's privacy? We thought about an option to disable the automatic emotion detection as well as a direct access to the coach without answering private questions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our ideas as well as the homogeneity of the interface and interactions with current LG services and features. We are also proud of the teamwork skills that we showed during the last three days.

What we learned

We improved our skillset in many technologies including React Native, Firebase and we learned some AI techniques and how to integrated in a seamless fashion in the web.

What's next for Coach de bien-être

We will improve the meditation program with many new features including voice interactions. We will work on integrating more AI in the user profiles to remember the user's preferences. Make the chat bot more dynamic by including natural language processing as well as voice interactions with the bot (TTS and voice recognition)
