Inspiration
All of us have too many tabs open, but do you know how many you open in a day? Keep track of it while learning a few fun facts along the way. We wanted to inject a little piece of fun in people's "digital commute" to a web page.
What it does
When you open a new tab, the landing page shows the number of tabs you've opened today with a randomly selected fact about that number, plus some easter eggs, and room for corporate sponsorships :').
How we built it
We made the site in Next.js with Replit KV Store & Deployments.
Challenges we ran into
It's been a while since we coded.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We coded this :) (shout out to Replit for making it easy)!
What we learned
"In medical treatment for burn victims, the body is divided into sections that represent 9% (or multiples thereof) of the body surface area, helping to estimate the total area affected by burns and guide treatment decisions."
What's next for Close Your Tabs
You'll also need the "New Tab Redirect" chrome extension to see on every new tab opening (ideally we publish our own chrome extension in the future to bypass this).
If you don't want to use that chrome extension, you can just keep refreshing the page to see fun facts tied to higher numbers.
