Seeing low-resourced school students struggle with expensive software licenses when they try to create professional-looking presentations and documents for their work.

What it does

Complete AI-powered productivity suite with slides, docs, and spreadsheets - an affordable Google Workspace alternative with AI integration and without paywalls.

How we built it

React + TypeScript frontend with integration of Google Gemini AI, Fabric.js for drag-and-drop functionality, localStorage for storage, and Puter.js for creating images.

Challenges we faced

Native Google Slides capability developed with draggable objects, native AI image generation, and native offline without databases.

Achievements we're proud of

Built a production-level replacement for high-end software that is free, offline, and has AI support for creating educational content.

What we learned

We learned that students need instant access without any hiccups, AI can significantly improve the quality of educational content, and client-side apps can be as good or better than server-side apps.

What's next for Clixel

Global access supported by multi-lingual functionality, classroom management features for educators, co-editing features, and collaborations with educational groups around the world.
