Inspiration
The inspiration for our project, ClimateCraft, came from our team's shared passion for environmental conservation and our love for gaming. We wanted to create a game that would not only be entertaining but also raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet.
What it does
ClimateCraft is an AI-powered game that uses natural language processing (NLP) to create a dynamic and unpredictable outcome. Players must navigate through various levels while making choices that impact the environment. The game educates players about the impact of their decisions on the environment and encourages them to make more sustainable choices in real life.
How we built it
To build ClimateCraft, we used a combination of Roblox Studio and OpenAI's GPT-3 language model. We first created the game's environment using Roblox Studio, which allowed us to design the game's levels and characters. Then, we used GPT-3 to generate responses to the player's choices in real-time, ensuring a dynamic and unpredictable conversations for NPCs.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we faced was integrating GPT-3 into the game. While the language model provided us with powerful tools for creating a dynamic gameplay experience, we had to overcome technical hurdles to ensure the game's safety and stability.
We also faced challenges in creating a game that was both educational and entertaining. We had to find the right balance between providing players with valuable information about the environment and creating an enjoyable gaming experience. No one in our team has Roblox development experience, so we have to learn how to adept our workflow to Roblox.

We're proud to have created a game that not only entertains but also educates players about the environment. We were able to integrate AI technology into the game, making it a truly unique and dynamic experience for players.
What we learned
Throughout the development of ClimateCraft, we learned a lot about the power of AI in gaming and the importance of creating games that are both entertaining and educational. We also learned the importance of collaboration and communication in a team project and how to overcome technical hurdles through creative problem-solving. we also learned how to use Roblox, a popular gaming platform used by millions of players worldwide. We gained hands-on experience with Roblox Studio, which allowed us to design and create the game's environment, levels, and characters. This experience opened up a whole new world of game development for us and gave us a greater appreciation for the possibilities of gaming as a medium for education and social impact.
What's next for ClimateCraft
In the future, we plan to continue improving ClimateCraft by implementing more advanced AI technology and creating even more engaging gameplay experiences. We also hope to expand the game's reach and impact by partnering with environmental organizations to raise awareness about important environmental issues.
