ClearIt is a service that focuses on reactive care by tracking the percentage of acne composition; with consistent tracking, users can better understand the effects of skincare regimens and prescribed medications on their skin. ClearIt mitigates the deterioration of skin conditions during the extended wait times for dermatologist appointments by providing detailed analytics about problematic areas of the face and its overall response to stressors and skincare products. By employing a novel image processing algorithm with machine learning and augmented reality to detect facial features, ClearIt identifies areas of the face with acne to track its progression over time, enabling users to gain access to detailed analytics about their skin's condition. From a single frontal face image, ClearIt surveys the user’s face and returns graphs of the intensity, spread, and location of hyperpigmentation and acne. ClearIt is able to provide customers with a deeper understanding of the effects of their skincare regimens and medication, specifically by illustrating the percent change of acne over time to show short and long term progress. By presenting the information through clear, interactive graphs, users gain nuanced insights into their skin’s receptivity to treatment. ClearIt employs a novel algorithm to provide detailed, accurate progress data to the user by means of a machine learning model. The computer vision implemented in ClearIt allows the user’s non-skin facial features to be removed, allowing for a more accurate read of the front-facing image.
