Inspiration
With new and advanced technologies the climate has been getting left behind. There's more pollution and more trash. What could Ai do to help resolve this problem. After some thinking I came to the conclusion of an app that encourages users to pickup trash was the best solution. However picking up trash is tedious and annoying. To make this process fun and motivating a leaderboard system was added. Studies show that a leaderboard system can boost motivation in students by 80% and participation when leaderboards are added rises by 30%.
What it does
CleanIt stores your information and then allows you to upload an image if that image is of trash then it increases your score and updates the leaderboard.
How we built it
Pytorch for model, sqlite3 for storage and customtkinter for frontend.
Challenges we ran into
increasing model accuracy and coding a channel attention gate and understanding the math of how it worked and the logic of it.
