Inspiration

We just registered for the spring semester last Friday, and what many of us struggled with was finding the right teachers. Additionally, even when we found the teachers, upperclassmen took the classes before us, causing us to waste time looking through more teachers, trying to find the right fit, and with this opportunity, we decided to take the chance and create a website that fully solves this problem, saving countless students hours of searching and fitting into schedules.

What it does

ClassyAI takes an input of the student's university, and their class to search through the reviews and find the highest rated professors, and gives a summary of the professor's name, rating 1/5, and provides a few comments to help the student understand what the professors are like.

How we built it

We built ClassyAI through the integration of languages like _HTML , CSS, and Python, _ and frameworks such as _ Flask _. The AI that we utilized for ClassyAI was _ OpenAI's gpt-5.1 model. _

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges that we ran into were integrating our separate tasks to create one final project that accomplished everything we hoped for, and creating a virtual machine for us to test and use our project during the building stage.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our whole website, but even more so, we are proud about the fact that we were able to think of an idea, and implement it with our current skills.

What we learned

We learned a lot about the integration of multiple languages and technologies, and how to cooperate as a team to develop a project that we couldn't have built by ourselves. Additionally, we learned a lot about how to deploy our project.

What's next for ClassyAI

We hope to find a way to update the RateMyProfessor data live, so student's can always have the most updated information possible on their professors, including new professors and professors leaving a course.
