Inspiration
The show Abbot Elementary is what inspired us to make a game about the show. The funniest scene that we continue to see pop-up on social media is when a little kid ask the teacher Mr. Eddie if he will grow a tree in his belly since he ate the seed and the dirt. Mr. Eddie responds with "Did you eat a wet paper towel?" and the little boy responds yes so he takes him to the nurse. This inspired us to make a game on the chaos of being a teacher.
What it does
The game focuses on the daily life of a teacher and how they have to complete their task while helping students with their weird questions.
How we built it
We used the python library Pygames to build the web application, as well as other imports and other API's.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges with sprite design and animation, overall app integration, managing and storing game data, and implementing accurate in-game timing.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to build a fully functioning demo within 24 hours!!!!
What we learned
Working in group you need communication and that is what got us through this hackathon
What's next for Classroom Chaos
We could implement more levels, make levels more difficult as the game progresses, fix the task bar, more mini games, expand on the scenarios, expand the scope of the school, incorporate the characters from the TV show.
