ckCoins

Inspiration

There is a great need for new stablecoins for local markets, especially in stable economies that do not depend on the US dollar as a store of value or for transactions. Also this need as an option for people who have to pay a lot for each transaction on current payment gateways.

What it does

ckCoins is a platform that allows you to create, manage, mint, and burn stablecoins associated with different fiat currencies (for now there is only one as a test). ckCoins uses ckBTC as a store of value and collateral for mining different currencies.

How we built it

Using Internet Computer as a Blockchain network, with Rust as a programming language for Cannister (Smart contracts), and ckBTC for the demo.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Create a small proof of concept and discover a big business problem/opportunity leveraging bitcoin on one of the Blockchain networks today.

What we learned

I learned quite a bit about Rust (one of the the Internet Computer language) and ckBTC for using Bitcoin on the ICP Blockchain for transactions beyond just payments.

What's next for ckCoins

Enable it as a real product and as a startup.
