Data driven decision making is a proven tool to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of managerial decisions. With our solution, we aim at supporting politicians in improving the circular economy of their cities. Additional our solution can be used by private households to understand which topics are the most urgent in their city.

The entire project is web-based. We have a dashboard based frontend and a machine learning backend. The recommendations are derived from data from cities regarding their waste and circular economy activities. The challenge is to get reliable data. We propose to use crowdsourcing to build up a data base. The more cities are entered into the database, the better the accuracy of the algorithm gets.

Once the data set that is big enough, we plan to create an additional incentive by releasing a "circular city seal", which is earned if a city has done a predifined amount of activities.

Due to generating the recommendations with machine learning, the need of expensive and slow consulting firms is completely bypassed, and every city gets a data based rating and recommendations.

With our contribution we make the process of transforming cities into fully circular economies easier, cheaper and reliable. This will be a major step to save the planet.
