What inspired us
Our wonderful project, Chud2Chad, was inspired by countless hours of thought as we crammed for midterms in Marston's basement. We saw so many smelly, unfashionable engineering majors, and we thought, "Wow, these guys are chuds. We need to help them as fellow engineering majors!" Using Chud2Chad, we wanted to target socially unaware undergraduate students who could use improvements in their fashion and personal hygiene!
How we built our project
We built this project using various tech stacks and languages, including Python, React Native, Expo, Node.js, and TypeScript. Additionally, we implemented an AI feature using the Gemini API to help us analyze people's outfits.
Challenges we ran into
We faced various challenges such as working in a highly-paced time constraint environment, merge conflicts, and understanding the Gemini API structure and React Native so we could successfully create the project we envisioned.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some accomplishments that we are proud of is that we learned how to implement a Gemini API and we were able to calmly work in a high-paced environment. This was one of our group members' first times attending a Hackathon, so we're really glad we were able to work together efficiently and not struggle with GitHub, as we did once before in our Data Structures class.
What's next for Chud2Chad
What's next for Chud2Chad? We've been inspired by this Hackathon and learned the general workflow for creating projects, and we hope to create more projects together in the future!
