Inspiration:
To bridge the gap of financial literacy for everyone.
What it does:
It educates the users of financial knowledge throughout the levels. Upon completion, the user gets to earn coins to utilize in the real world by buying and selling stock and applying their acquired knowledge simultaneously.
How we built it:
We built it using React JS, HTML, CSS, and Python. We used the Google Gemini API for the AI component and deployed the web app on Vercel.
Challenges we ran into:
We ran into merging git conflicts when pushing the newly refined code and often times going upstream. We also dealt with the issue of API not functioning as expected.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
We were able to figure out the API key functionality and finally got it running as expected which was the core operation of our project. In addition to that, we're proud to modify our code close enough to what we imagined would look like in real life.
What we learned:
We learned to use API agents, Figma (UI design), Git repositories and how to resolve Git merging conflicts.
What's next for Chrysalis:
We hope to add the shopping page where all the inventories will be present for the user to purchase and decorate their profile to boost inspiration and continuation of learning. Furthermore, we'll add the life cycle of a butterfly to showcase user progress for extra fun.
