Inspiration

We did a lot of research on the causes and effects of problems of workspaces which led to us realizing that there are four main sectors, or pillars of improvements in the workplace: mental health, social wellbeing, career development, and employee management. We were inspired to categorize our work into these pillars.

What it does

Chimera is an employee and manager dashboard that integrates all aspects of work using unique features and AI integration. The features are divided into the 4 pillars. In Sanctuary, the employee can view notifications, view a calendar with generated breaks, and view health resources to benefit their mental health. In Agora, the employee can view break rooms as well as the virtual workspace of personal rooms, view events and special days, and see employee connections. In compass, the employee can see their short and long term to-do list, create and view employee recognitions, and view the leaderboard for recognitions. In cockpit, the manager can view employee analytics, get action suggestions to improve employee health and productivity, and receive suggestions for discussions for upcoming 1-on-1 meetings.

How we built it

We first researched the problems that virtual and hybrid workspaces face. Next, we developed ideas for potential solutions to the problems and categorized them into the four pillars. After that, we began structuring our website and the interactive features. Finally, we revised and polished the website for user convenience.

Challenges we ran into

In the beginning, we thought of many different ideas to implement. However, there was not an infinite amount of space or time, so we had to prioritize the most important features that we wanted to showcase. We also face the challenge of trying to spend time on specific features according to the priority of the task rather than how long the task could take to perfect.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our ideas and research of the subject. We are also proud of our new knowledge and wisdom of workplace environments and how we integrated in-person and virtual workers. We are also happy with our new knowledge of Figma capabilities.

What we learned

We learned how to effectively research problems and solutions for a given case. We also learned how companies and their employee interfaces worked. We learned how to implement ideas into Figma including interactive capabilities.

What's next for Chimera

Chimera will next implement more customization for the personal workspace. It will also include a larger variety of break rooms to attract employees of every personality type to engage.
