** 1. What is your chosen theme and problem statement? ** Giving Back Qn1: Volunteering is one of the best ways to give back to our community. What creative ideas do you have to make volunteering easier, widespread, and more beneficial to those in need?

** 2. What does your hack do? ** This is a platform where users are able to look for voluntary organisations near their homes, fill in their data through our profile page and be able to get in contact with these organisations easily. More details can be found in the video attachment.

** 3. How does your hack answer the problem statement?** After speaking to some voluntary organisations, they mentioned that potential volunteers were often unaware of activities due to a lack of publicity. Today, we are trying to bridge this gap with our mobile application Volunteer Connect. With our application, users will be able to find convenient volunteering opportunities around them with just a few taps on their mobile phone, and organisations will be able to connect with them easily at the same time, making volunteering much easier and available to everyone.

** 4. How did you built your hack? ** We built our hack using react native and javascript. We decided to contact some volunteering organisations first to get feedback on the current unaddressed gaps in the volunteering field. We then worked on brainstorming how we wanted our app to look like using figma, and then on implementing it in code.

** 5. What are some difficulties you overcame? ** We ran into some difficulty when coding the app as it is not in our first language (c++ and java) as we do not normally work on mobile apps. However, we spent time before the hackathon to learn to code in react native for the app and when we ran into difficulty with code during the course of this hackathon, we stayed calm and went online to search for solutions and learn.

** 6. What was your biggest learning point from LifeHack 2022? ** Our biggest learning point was that coding is not something that is individual, but instead requires a lot more teamwork than one would expect. With the short time constrain given to us, we are unable to simply rely on ourselves to finish the project but have to divide up the work in order to finish in time. We had to put aside difference in opinions as well and focus on finishing the application without wasting too much time.
