Inspiration

Cooking and baking with our current smart scales require constantly checking recipes and trying to tell the scale that we're just recording the weight of the container. We wanted an easier way to cook recipes and be certain we're using the perfect amount of ingredients.

What it does

It's a voice controlled food scale designed for cooks with little time (and flour) on their hands.

How we built it

We connected the Arduino up to and Android app which then connects directly to AWS to do voice recognition and text to speech.

Challenges we ran into

Time, we didn't have enough time to put in place some of the ANN work we planned on.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The quality of the case and it's multiple different input mechanisms.

What we learned

The Arduino 101 is perfect for prototyping projects, big and small.

What's next for Chef Buddy

Adding in some google fit tracking and upgrade the recipes.
