Inspiration

As high school students, we see seemingly harmless posts on social media that can in reality have ramifications and consequences on those they are directed to. People seem to think that it is forgivable to post content online that is harmful or offensive to other because it is not verbal or face to face. However it still poses a threat and harm to social media users

What it does

This website provides a forum for people who have been bullied or have witnessed bullying to report accounts which will all be compiled into a spreadsheet so that others can know who not to follow. In turn, it also allows people to seek help from others or provide help to others that have been victims of cyberbullying. In addition, it gives information on the effects of cyberbullying in the hopes of making a change.

How I built it

We used javascript, css and html to code our website.

Challenges I ran into

We ran into several challenging aspects, coding our websites. It was most of our first times coding in html, java or css so, we were new to the languages. We had trouble storing the information to send into our database. We tried creating textboxes to store the information but, realized that creating a database to store this information that people would enter would be tough. We were then given the idea to embed the code from a google docs, making creating a data base of the entries significantly easier.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud that we brought a real-life and present issues and find some sort of solution for it. The issues of cyberbullying and harassment online are serious issues that pertain to daily life.

What I learned

It was most of our first coding competitions! It was hard but we were able to finish and we learned how to code in html java and c++. We learned how to pitch our website and learned how we can help others through our coding!

What's next for CHANGE

It was most of our first coding competitions! It was hard but we were able to finish and we learned how to code in html java and c++. We learned how to pitch our website and learned how we can help others through our coding!
