Inspiration
We were inspired by the challenge and it caught our interest.
What it does
It creates a website that displays information about the cars available and the ones currently in need of reconditioning and elaborates on what needs to be fixed.
How we built it
We used Java to make the underlying Car objects, and we used HTML and some CSS to build the web interface. We also used mapping and controllers with the SpringBoot framework to create an interactive environment. We also used ThymeLeaf to generate dynamic content and Bootstrap for theming/page structure.
Challenges we ran into
We weren't able to get our Java program onto a webpage for a while but we researched various methods and we came up with using the Controllers, which worked pretty well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how clean the site itself looks as well as the progress we made in 24 hours.
What we learned
We learned a lot about coding in HTML and interacting with web browsers.
What's next for CarMax Challenge Website
We plan on getting a more seamless search feature integrated in the future.
