Problems – What issues does the idea address? The idea of our application addresses the widening gap between people of FGLI communities in the understanding of financial literacy. The group of restricted individuals are put at a disadvantage due to the failure to guide them to future success. The resource is free for all users and gives beneficial direction for career opportunities.

Features – How does our idea work and what features does it provide? Our idea works in that it’s powered by volunteers that are willing to help a struggling community. The application provides a platform where financial literacy can be learned and used to benefit FGLI communities. The features that our application will provide include one on one conversations with trained volunteers, live chats of groups containing people of similar interest, financial literacy curriculum and workshops taught by trained professionals.

What we learned – What did we take away from our pitch and project idea? During our process, we learned about the imbalance of knowledge between certain communities and the necessity for a change of educational structure. We found that this valuable information of financial and career success should be made aware and explained to all individuals no matter the background. Additionally, our pitch taught us how to effectively express content in an expeditious yet descriptive manner. The project idea inspired our group to delve deeper in the unjust divide and attempt to perfect our system.

What's next – What future feasibility and implementation do we envision for our project? The scale in our application is boundless in that it could potentially reach every FGLI community. The resource is powered by willing volunteers, so through advertisement and product sponsorship and funding, we can implement the knowledge globally. Furthermore, as the learning community grows, more individuals will be educated, creating a new wave of volunteers. However, our main target is to instruct and prepare these individuals to success involving future business opportunities.
