Inspiration
We have lots of interest when it comes to making change; helping save our planet is one of them. What if, we thought, we could show people their direct impact on our planet? When someone sees the direct impact they make, they will be more likely to change their lifestyle to be more eco-friendly.
What It Does
Our website spreads awareness about environmental impact by showing people their impact on the planet which is a direct solution to the problem, and anyone can help!
How We Built It
We used an online IDE called Repl.it and the Languages that we used were HTML and Java Script.
Challenges We Ran Into
Debugging our code was difficult because with so many different things working at once, it was sometimes hard to pinpoint where our mistake was. There was also a limited amount of time to do everything which made it a little bit harder, however, we are really happy that we finished.
Accomplishments That We're Proud Of
We are proud that we made a statistics page that gives us real-time data on the state of the planet. We are also very proud of the page we created that calculates the carbon footprint of the user.
What We Learned
We learned how to use JQuery to import Javascript from a library. We also learned how to create and edit iframes from other websites.
What's Next For Carbon Impact
Next, we can make a ‘donations’ and a ‘contact us’ page. We are also planning on making the website more user-friendly and attractive.
