Overview: CalmLens is a Snapchat AR lens designed to help users confront and gradually desensitize their fears or anxieties through guided micro-exposures, directly on their phones. This makes therapy more accessible, stigma-free, and personalized.

Target Use Cases: Social Anxiety: Simulate being in a crowd, making eye contact, or speaking in front of others. Astraphobia: Simulate the feeling of thunder and lightning gradually until its not scary anymore.

Key Features Using Snap AR (Lens Studio):

  1. Dynamic Scene Overlay Use Segmentation + 3D object placement to overlay realistic phobia triggers in real environments.

  2. Intensity Slider (User Control): Custom UI sliders using 2D screen elements to increase/decrease exposure:

-Number of people in a simulated audience -Intensity of Lightning and sound of thunder

  1. Biofeedback Integration: Prompt user to tap to log heart rate or self-report anxiety levels before/after.

  2. Discreet Mode: Lens can appear like a selfie filter to reduce stigma. Only the user knows it's a therapy session.

Why Snap AR?: Frictionless deployment: No downloads, just open Snapchat. High user adoption: Many young adults already use Snapchat daily. Creative expression: Users can journal their progress or reactions as private Snaps.

Tech Stack: Lens Studio: For AR object placement, UI, and scripting. SnapML (optional): Could use ML models to detect facial stress or emotion for responsive feedback.
