Depression rates are on the rise and sometimes a simple reminder that you are worth it, smart, and capable can make all the difference. Our application provides a short message of encouragement.

Encourage is an Android Application that has suppritive and motivational messages gor users who may need it.

User Stories

The following functionality is completed:

  • [x] User can press to load a encourage qoute
  • [x] The background shuffles images
  • [x] simple design for a quick lift

The following are future features:

  • [] shake phone for encouraging quote
  • [] different categories for the user to select from
  • [] User can submit their own quotes

Notes

We built this application at cal hacks. This application was fun to build because we wanted to create something that could take the stress out of the day. Together as a team we discussed several different types of uplifting quotes we could have in the application and decided to go with a simple design for the user to quickly be encouraged and continue to work on themselves. We believe mental health is extremely important and hope to help anyone who is having a rough day.
