Inspiration

Coming from a bunch of university students running on low attention span, we came up with the idea of creating short-form news content to keep us engaged while staying informed about important world events.

What it does

Think about TikTok but for news. We craft a "For You" page based off your preferences, and deliver "byte-sized" news articles with short summaries, and audio for listening on-the-go!

How we built it

We used React.js, JavaScript, Firebase, CSS, HTML, and other web frameworks/languages!

Challenges we ran into

We are beginners working with React.js and JavaScript, so there was a lot of learning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to be creating a project that will benefit a huge population around the globe, consuming news content in a whole new way.

What we learned

As one of our first Hackathons, we learned to work under pressure and work together closely.

What's next for ByteSwipe

You never know what's on the horizon, we plan to develop a mobile application so you can take us with you in your pocket!
