BuyForGood

Inspiration

With the rise of local enterprises, and support local initiatives, BuyForGood creates a single marketplace for consumers to easily source products while supporting locals. Hence, we are able to meet consumers' needs while empowering local enterprises.

What it does

Our app showcases companies from the BusinessForGood directory and the products and services that they offer, providing easy access to socially conscious consumers.

How we built it

For frontend UI, we used Flutter and Dart. Additionally, for the backend, we used Firebase to authenticate user sign-ups and save user profiles to the servers.

Challenges we ran into

We had to debug our code, which took up quite a bit of time. This also meant that we had to rewrite some of the code again that we could not successfully debug.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to learn Flutter within a short span of time and complete the app.

What we learned

We learned the value of teamwork and perseverance. We also grew in resourcefulness in learning mobile development frameworks independently and familiarised ourselves with Flutter and Firebase.
