Inspiration
Most bug reporting platforms focus on paid bounty programs, leaving startups and small companies without an easy, affordable way to receive vulnerability reports. We built BugBridge to simplify that process.
What it does
BugBridge lets anyone report bugs to companies securely and anonymously. Companies can create a profile, set up a submission page, and manage reports in a dashboard with AI-assisted severity triage.
How we built it
We used React and Tailwind CSS for the frontend, Node.js + Express for connecting the backend to the frontend, MongoDB for storing users, companies, and reports, and finally Golang for our API. The system includes authentication, anonymous submissions, and dashboards for both user and company views.
Challenges we ran into
Designing clear user flows, keeping reports anonymous while secure, and integrating all parts of the system within the hackathon timeframe were our main challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a functional MVP with full reporting flow, AI triage, and a clean, professional UI — all in a short time frame.
What we learned
We learned how to design for security and usability, manage complex data models, and deliver a full-stack solution under time pressure.
What's next for BugBridge
We plan to integrate with tools like Slack and Jira, add analytics, improve AI analysis, and launch a public beta to get real user feedback.
