Budget Tracking Agent

Inspiration

• Most people make expenses without accounting for a monthly budget
• Tracking a budget manually is repetitive and time-consuming, making it the perfect task to automate via MCP Servers

How I built it

• Built MCP Server, tools, and connectors for each service
• leveraged Gmail for tracking purchases, Google Sheets for evaluating budget, and Slack for personalized notifications

Challenges I ran into

• OAuth2 flow complexities
• type checking

What's next for Budget Tracking Agent

• Image and PDF processing via OCR
• LLM tools/ functionality (query llm for budget planning, personalized notifications, etc.)
• additional logging, evals, and metric extraction for data observability
