Budget Brewers

Inspiration

As college students, we understand how intimidating finances can be. We chose this prompt because we want to help out other college students who may similarly be feeling overwhelmed. With this project, we want to encourage financial literacy in a fun and engaging way that makes budgeting finances less scary.

What it does

Budget Brewers is an app that takes a creative and engaging approach to managing finances through a friendly coffee style. Users can also collaborate and interact with friends to discuss various budget plans and ideate together. When a user first signs up, they are prompted to take a quiz that helps them identify the type of spender they are.

How we built it

We first chose an overall theme and sketched out our design and wireframes through canva and paper. Then, we brought the project to life on Figma.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the transitions between the pages would leave out some components or would not transition properly. We also had to figure out some of the new components and functionalities of Figma that we hadn't previously used before in any other projects.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to complete everything according to our plan. We were also able to overcome our struggles of working with to make seamless transitions between each other pages.

What we learned

While we had some previous experience with the general design of some layouts and web pages, this was our very first type of having to prototype and create a functional project.

What's next for Budget Brewers

We would like to enhance the UI of this project. Since we were short on time, the last few frames were not as developed as we would like them to be. In the future, we would like to enhance the UI of the overall design and frames.
