Inspiration
The drive to do something big. Fed up of having to have the resident/ employee/employer by the side when checking in and check out.
What it does
Acts as a bridge between invitee and the inviter/ customer and office. Makes process of checking in and out secure simpler and easier.
How we built it
Discussed the idea. Divided the work. Sketched the ER diagram, and built relationship schema out of it. Normalized everything to reduce the anomalies. Everything was fed into the database system using PHP and MySQL. Used PubNub and google maps API to display real time location(of the user) in the maps.
Challenges we ran into
Had to learn and implement new languages like JavaScript, new APIs such as PubNub and Google map apis.
A lot of bugs, such as random GPS locations.(Reduced it)
Problems occurred during setting up local servers. XAMPP gave a lot of errors, so had to change the localhost to MAMP.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
First project build by our team for a hackathon. It was the first hackathon for some of us too.
What we learned
We learned the importance of teamwork, work-division, individual motivation.
Learnt new languages, learnt different processes of building a project, learnt about relationship Schema.
What's next for Bridge
Implement the model into iOS, and Android platforms. Work with Arduinos to build our own sensors.
