Inspiration
We wanted to make something with a brick, and in our brainstorming came up with the BrickBoy.
What it does
It is a fully functional game console packaged inside of a brick.
How we built it
We used a hammer and chisel to cut the brick into pieces that we could glue back together, and constructed the electronics using a Pi Pico, some keyboard switches, an LCD screen, and some breadboarding.
Challenges we ran into
We found it was difficult to cut the bricks in clean lines, but got better as we gained practice.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our best Hackathon yet!
What we learned
We learned a lot about how to use microcontrollers and masonry tools.
What's next for BrickBoy
BrickBoy 2.0 will feature more games, more fun, and more brick.
