Inspiration

Have you ever got stuck on planning a trip but can't figure out where to go and what to do? We got you covered!

What it does

• Travelers can specify their city destinations, the duration of stay in each city, the travel radius, and the types of attractions they wish to visit.
• AI-driven recommendations for attractions, with the option to manually select or opt for automatic suggestions.
• generates and stores routes for adventurers to visit their selected attractions, enhancing their travel experience.

How we built it

• Scavenger through open source on GitHub and watch YouTube tutorial to build up our project
• Using APIs (Google Place API, Google Gemini API, and Firebase API) to implement AI, fetch places, store data in Firebase, and integrate OAuth
• Design and style the theme to match our purpose ('Halloween')

Challenges we ran into

• Sleep deprived
• First time using React
• Struggled to implement all the API
• Struggled to implement the style we wanted (sound effect, movement effect, etc..)
• Registered for a domain on GoDaddy but was unable to make it work

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Able to make all the API to work
• Have fun with implementing the style/theme

What we learned

• Programming skills: React, Firebase, OAuth
• Collaboration and working together in a team

What's next for BooWay

• Updating the database, so AI will generate better results
• Fixing the UI to allow more effect and theme into Halloween
